Angel presses his free hand over hers on his arm, unable to resist touching her as much as possible, even if it is relatively chaste (especially by modern standards). Sometimes he still feels bad that his body isn't warm like a human's when he touches her, but she's never complained, so he tries to push it out of his mind.
"The first one," he responds. "I think... between Spike and Dru, there were more than usual - and surprisingly, Spike tends to pick smart people to turn, who mostly all stayed behind when they left." Maybe not surprising, actually, considering what William was like as a human. But Spike, like a lot of older vampires, doesn't suffer fools lightly.
"But the ones that stayed, tried to turn more, plus the regular influx of 'visitors'. I think they're mostly back to the regular Hellmouth numbers, and.... I may have been a little enthusiastic, so most of them have been steering clear, lately."
Angel knows that Buffy tries to separate 'regular life' from 'slayer duty', but to him this isn't 'shop talk', it's just another facet of the life they live. It's not like he has a lot else going on on his social calendar to talk about.
